Soft Collapse

Soft Collapse is a conceptual lamp that delves into the ephemerality of organic matter, capturing the tension between decay and the pursuit of eternity. This piece serves as both a functional light source and a symbolic exploration of how the transient nature of life contrasts with the human desire to preserve and immortalise.

Inspired by the fleeting nature of organic specimens, Soft Collapse embodies the delicate balance between preservation and decay. The lamp acts as a specimen frozen in time, a collection of forms that seem to collapse or dissolve yet are captured in a moment of transformation. This design represents the inevitable decay of life while hinting at the power of our pursuit to defy it. The lamp features soft, organic shapes that appear to be amid a slow collapse. Encased in a translucent material, these forms create a hauntingly beautiful play of light and shadow, symbolising the fading of life and the power found within its impermanence. The interplay of light captures the essence of decay while also reflecting the human longing for eternity.
